A Galataport cruise transfer is not the same operation as collecting a passenger from an ordinary Karakoy address. Passenger and luggage handling plus passport and customs procedures continue after the ship berths, so the exact terminal exit time can vary. A driver and vehicle must therefore be allocated to the port window and the meeting point and vehicle access coordinated in advance. The booking engine applies one 50% port-operation adjustment to every available vehicle only when Galataport Cruise Terminal is selected. Nearby hotels, shops, restaurants and ordinary Karakoy or Tophane addresses are excluded.
Galataport Istanbul operates passenger, luggage, passport and customs processes in its 29,000 m² underground cruise terminal. Galataport’s official description also states that taxi, minibus and tour-bus traffic is directed underground. The design keeps the waterfront open above ground, but it also means cruise-passenger pickup must follow the correct terminal flow.
Merry Tourism operates as TÜRSAB travel agency #14316 and manages the agency and vehicle documents required for a transfer. Under our operating arrangement with Galataport, vehicle access and the meeting plan are coordinated per booking. A TÜRSAB document is not, by itself, an automatic port-entry permit: travel-agency obligations and the port’s own access rules are separate requirements.

How is the Galataport transfer price calculated?
Outdated static starting prices have been removed. The booking page calculates the exact fare from the route, vehicle and current tariff. Selecting Galataport Cruise Terminal applies one 50% port-operation adjustment to every vehicle type and displays that the operation is included.

The ship’s berthing time is not the passenger’s vehicle pickup time. Galataport’s official terminal information says luggage, passport and customs processes take place underground. Passenger flow can vary with the ship, terminal load, baggage delivery and official controls, so operations track the ship information, planned disembarkation and live passenger communication together.
Once a vehicle is allocated to this waiting and access plan, it cannot take another job in the same window. The port-operation price covers more than driving distance: vehicle allocation, driver waiting, parking/access planning, meeting coordination and the passenger’s move from the terminal with luggage. The exact meeting point is confirmed before the booking or on the operating day according to terminal flow.

Why does a Galataport transfer cost more?▼
The cost is not mileage alone. After berthing, passengers complete luggage, passport and customs flows. As the exit time can vary, a driver and vehicle are allocated to the port operation and waiting, parking/access and meeting coordination are required. The online fare includes this from the start.
Does the 50% adjustment apply to every address near Galataport?▼
No. It is not a one-kilometre surcharge on Karakoy or Tophane. It activates only when the selected location clearly identifies Galataport Cruise Terminal and its coordinates validate within the terminal area. Nearby hotels, shops, restaurants and museums retain normal pricing.
Can any private car collect a cruise passenger inside the terminal?▼
Vehicle and passenger flow follows Galataport’s current access rules; a car cannot simply assume it may wait indefinitely at any chosen point. Merry Tourism plans the transfer documents and Galataport access/meeting coordination for each booking. The final point is confirmed on the operating day.
Is a TÜRSAB licence a Galataport entry permit?▼
Not by itself. TÜRSAB rules define documents for agency tour and transfer activity, including agency, passenger, vehicle and personnel records. Galataport’s terminal-access and meeting rules apply separately. We manage both requirements as distinct parts of the operation.
Where can I travel after leaving the ship?▼
We can plan Karakoy, Taksim, Sultanahmet and Istanbul hotels; IST and SAW airports; private city stops; and suitable addresses outside Istanbul. Longer routes receive a separate traffic and safety buffer based on the flight or ship schedule.
What information is needed to book?▼
Provide the ship name, arrival or embarkation date, expected exit/check-in time, passenger count, number of large or special bags, flight number where relevant and final destination. WhatsApp availability helps with live meeting confirmation.
